Implementation of the Canva Application as a Learning Media for Social Studies for Grade VIII at SMP N 27 Padang. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Canva application as a learning media for Social Studies (IPS) in grade VIII of SMP Negeri 27 Padang. This research is motivated by the limited variety of learning media used by teachers and the low involvement of students during the IPS learning process. The study uses a qualitative approach with field research. Research informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique consisting of the principal, curriculum representative, IPS teacher, and grade VIII students. Data were collected through non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation studies, then analyzed inductively and tested for validity through source triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the application of Canva was carried out through the planning stage, media preparation, implementation in the preliminary, core, and closing activities, and learning evaluation. The use of Canva helps teachers present social studies material in a more engaging, systematic, and concrete manner through a combination of text, images, and illustrations, while encouraging student engagement through question-and-answer sessions and discussions, in line with Piaget's and Vygotsky's constructivist theories. Obstacles encountered relate to the availability of supporting resources such as internet access, projectors, and teachers' ability to manage media displays. This study concludes that Canva can be an effective alternative social studies learning medium if supported by teacher readiness, appropriate materials, and adequate school infrastructure.References
