Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of the concept of IPAS of grade VI students of SD N Mangunrekso 02 due to the dominance of conventional learning that makes students passive. This study aims to determine the improvement of the understanding of the concept of Social Science of elementary school students through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by E-Cergam Babad Pati media. This study uses a Quantitative approach with the Pre-Experimental method with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research subjects were 26 students in grade VI SD N Mangunreksi 02 who were selected with saturated sampling techniques. Data were collected through Pretest-Posttest, Observation, Interview, and Documentation. Data were analyzed by the Saphiro-Wilk Normality Test, the Parametric Paired Sample T-Test, and the N-Gain Test with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in Pretest and Posttest scores in the range of 19.69 to 26.73 with a significance of 0.000. Then the results of the N-Gain Test obtained an average value of 0.5579 or 55.79% which means that the learning applied can improve students' understanding of the concept of IPAS with a moderate rate of improvement. The increase is mainly seen in the indicator Classifying objects and the lowest in the indicator provides examples and examples, uses procedural steps, and presents concept representations. The Problem Based Learning model assisted by E-Cergam Babad Pati Media can improve the Understanding of Elementary School Fishing Concepts so that it can be considered as one of the learning alternatives.
