Abstract

Abstract This paper is intended to explain the use of the dictogloss technique to improve students’ writing skill at Nahdlatul Ulama University of West Nusa Tenggara. The use of the dictogloss technique for improving students’ writing skill can be represented in each stage of this technique. Moreover, as a technique for language learning, the dictogloss, has preparation stage, dictation stage, reconstruction stage, and analysis-correction stage which facilitate learners in which students work together to reconstruct a dictated-text. They reconstruct the dictated-text by using their own words or in other words they do not write exactly what the lecturer read. Furthermore, the use of the dictogloss technique give a clear advantages for improving students’ writing skill, such as provides an opportunity for learners to use their grammatical knowledge to reconstruct the dictated-text and also encourages learners to find out what they do and do not know about English which is realized in the attempts to reconstruct the text and in the subsequent analysis of those attempts. Besides, the dictogloss technique also contribute to the motivation, learners’ interaction, and grammar in context. Teaching the students grammar in context shows them how to apply various grammatical concepts.

    Lalu Dwi Satria ardiansyah M.Pd. atau biasa dipanggil Ian oleh orang-orang disekitarnya memiliki hobi menonton film berbahasa asing. Ia lahir di pelosok Desa terpencil di Pulau Lombok, tepatnya di Lendang Kondak, Desa Bunut Baok, Kecamatan Praya, Kabupaten Lombok Tengah pada tanggal 15 agustus 1988  dari pasangan H. Lalu Wardani dan Hj. Sukatmi. Seorang suami dari Baiq Dewi Sukma Septiani, M.Gz. Kini sebagai Dosen dan Kepala Pusat Bahasa di Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Nusa Tenggara Barat biasa (UNU NTB). Pak Ian, begitu sapaan akrabnya di kampus, mengajar Mata Kuliah Bahasa Inggris I-IV, Metodologi Penelitian, Pengantar Peserta Didik, dan Telaah Kurikulum Kesenian.Ketertarikan terhadap Ilmu Bahasa dimulai semenjak duduk dibangku SMA dengan mengambil Jurusan Bahasa (2006). Oleh karena itu, melanjutkan studi S1 nya  di Universitas Mataram dengan mengambil Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris pada Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) dengan gelar S.Pd. (2011). Tak lama berselang melanjutkan studi S2 nya di Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta dengan  mengambil Jurusan Linguistik Terapan Konsentrasi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris dengan Gelar M.Pd. (2015).Karya Tulis Ilmiah yang pernah dihasilkan antara lain: Increasing Student’s Writing Skill Using Jigsaw Technique at Seventh Grade in Junior High School 10 Mataram (2011), Siapkah Kita Melaksanakan Kurikulum 2013 di Sekolah?: Studi Kasus Sekolah Negeri di Kecamatan Bombana, Sulawesi Tenggara (2014), The Implementation of Curriculum 2013 on English Major at Junior High School 8 Yogyakarta (2015). Menjadi pendamping peneliti pada judul penelitian Kajian Instrumentasi Dan Organologi Gendang Beleq Sanggar Mertaq Mi Lombok Tengah Nusa Tenggara Barat (2019).Selain aktif mengajar di kampus, aktif juga di beberapa komunitas sosial, antara lain: Kelas Inspirasi Lombok, Bale Pintar, Kembali Untuk Berbagi, Relawan Gempa Lombok 2018, dan Buku Ini aku Pinjam.
