Abstract

Children's involvement in shallot farming has a negative impact on their future and the phenomenon shows that there are indications of exploitation of children's rights. A child who should be in school, especially formal education, actually loses the opportunity to access quality education because they do not participate in all school activities in their entirety. Community activities organized by community organizations also do not touch children from poor families much so that their involvement in agricultural economic activities actually eliminates opportunities for children to explore their talents and potential. The research method used is a qualitative method to examine various strategies and factors of children's involvement in agricultural economic activities and their impact on children. The results of the study prove that various programs are implemented to anticipate the involvement of children in agricultural economic activities, such as social, religious, artistic, cultural, and sports activities. However, for children from poor families who have problems with low welfare levels, family economic factors remain the main obstacle that is difficult to overcome. Based on this fact, children from poor families are partly involved in agricultural economic activities even though in a non-coercive form, because for parents in poor families, the future of children is more important by prioritizing education.
