Author Guidelines
Digital Business and Innovation Journal (DIBI) welcomes high-quality original manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in digital business, business innovation, and digital transformation. The journal publishes scholarly works that offer theoretical, empirical, or practical insights into how digital technologies create business value, foster innovation, and reshape organizations and markets.
Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
1. Manuscript Types
DIBI accepts the following types of manuscripts:
- Original Research Articles
- Review Articles (Systematic or Narrative)
- Case Studies
2. Language
All manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English.
Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to use professional English editing services prior to submission.
3. Manuscript Preparation
Authors must prepare manuscripts using the official DIBI Article Template and submit files in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
General Requirements
- Length: 5,000–8,000 words (excluding references)
- Paper Size: A4
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
- Line Spacing: 1.5
- Language: English
- File Format: DOC/DOCX
4. Manuscript Structure
Title
- Clear, concise, and informative
- Maximum 20 words
- Avoid abbreviations whenever possible
Author Information
- Full name of each author
- Institutional affiliation
- Corresponding author's email
- ORCID ID (recommended)
Abstract
The abstract should contain 150–250 words in a single paragraph and briefly explain:
- Research background
- Research objective
- Methodology
- Main findings
- Research contribution
Do not include citations or references.
Keywords
Provide 3–5 keywords that accurately represent the main topics of the manuscript.
Introduction
The introduction should include:
- Background of the study
- Research problem
- Research gap
- Research objectives
- Contribution of the study
Literature Review
This section should present:
- Relevant theories
- Current literature
- Research framework
- Hypothesis development (if applicable)
Research Method
Describe:
- Research design
- Data collection procedures
- Sampling techniques
- Variables and measurements (if applicable)
- Data analysis methods
Results and Discussion
Present:
- Research findings
- Interpretation of results
- Comparison with previous studies
- Theoretical implications
- Managerial and practical implications
Conclusion
Summarize:
- Main findings
- Theoretical contributions
- Practical implications
- Research limitations
- Suggestions for future research
Acknowledgements (Optional)
Authors may acknowledge research funding, institutions, or individuals who significantly contributed to the study.
References
DIBI follows the APA 7th Edition citation style.
Requirements:
- Minimum 25 references
- At least 80% should be journal articles published within the last five years
- Include DOI whenever available
- Use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote

Manuscripts outside the journal's scope may be returned without peer review.
6. Citation and Reference Style
DIBI adopts the APA (7th Edition) referencing style.
Authors are encouraged to use reference management software, including:
- Mendeley
- Zotero
- EndNote
7. Publication Ethics
DIBI adheres to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Submission of a manuscript confirms that:
- The work is original.
- The manuscript has not been published previously.
- The manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere.
- All authors have approved the submitted version.
- All sources have been appropriately cited.
8. Plagiarism Policy
All submissions undergo plagiarism screening using professional similarity detection software.
As a general guideline:
- Similarity Index should not exceed 20%
- Evidence of plagiarism, duplicate publication, or unethical research practices will result in immediate rejection.
9. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Disclosure
Authors must disclose the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools if such tools have substantially assisted in manuscript preparation.
AI tools:
- cannot be listed as authors;
- cannot assume responsibility for the manuscript; and
- must be acknowledged where appropriate.
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their work.
10. Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, professional, or personal relationships that could influence the interpretation of the research.
If no conflicts exist, authors should state:
The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest regarding the publication of this article.
11. Data Availability Statement
Authors are encouraged to include a Data Availability Statement describing where the supporting data can be accessed or explaining any restrictions on data sharing.
12. Submission Process
Authors should complete the following steps:
- Register as an Author in the DIBI online submission system.
- Prepare the manuscript using the official template.
- Complete all required metadata.
- Upload the manuscript.
- Confirm the submission.
- Monitor the review process through the journal system.
13. Submission Checklist
Before submitting, please ensure that:
- The manuscript fits the journal's Focus and Scope.
- The manuscript is original and unpublished.
- The manuscript is not under review elsewhere.
- The manuscript follows APA 7th Edition.
- Author metadata are complete.
- Abstract and keywords are provided.
- Tables and figures are appropriately cited.
- Ethical requirements have been fulfilled.
- The manuscript follows the official DIBI template.
14. Article Processing Charges (APC)
Information regarding Article Processing Charges (APC), if applicable, is available on the journal website. Any applicable fees will be communicated transparently to authors before publication.
