Author Guidelines

Digital Systems and Innovation Journal (DESI) welcomes original research articles, review articles, and case studies in the field of Information Systems, Digital Transformation, and Innovation. Manuscripts submitted to DESI must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal or publication.

1. Manuscript Types

2. Language

All manuscripts must be written in clear and grammatically correct English. Authors are encouraged to use professional language editing services when necessary.

3. Manuscript Preparation

Authors should prepare manuscripts using the official DESI article template. The manuscript should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

General Requirements

  • Length: 5,000–8,000 words (excluding references).
  • Paper size: A4.
  • Font: Times New Roman.
  • Line spacing: 1.15 or 1.5.
  • Language: English.
  • File format: DOC/DOCX.

4. Manuscript Structure

Title

  • Clear, concise, and informative.
  • Maximum 20 words.
  • Avoid abbreviations whenever possible.

Author Information

  • Full name of each author.
  • Institutional affiliation.
  • Email address of corresponding author.
  • ORCID ID (recommended).

Abstract

  • 150–250 words.
  • Written in a single paragraph.
  • Should briefly describe:
    • Research purpose;
    • Methodology;
    • Main findings;
    • Research contribution.
  • No citations or references.

Keywords

  • Provide 3–5 keywords.
  • Keywords should represent the core concepts of the study.

Introduction

  • Research background.
  • Problem statement.
  • Research gap.
  • Research objectives.
  • Contribution of the study.

Literature Review (Optional)

  • Theoretical background.
  • Previous studies.
  • Conceptual framework.

Research Method

  • Research design.
  • Data collection procedures.
  • Sampling methods.
  • Analytical techniques.

Results and Discussion

  • Presentation of findings.
  • Data interpretation.
  • Comparison with previous studies.
  • Theoretical and practical implications.

Conclusion

  • Main findings.
  • Research implications.
  • Limitations.
  • Future research directions.

Acknowledgments (Optional)

Authors may acknowledge funding agencies, institutions, or individuals who contributed to the research.

References

  • Use APA 7th Edition citation style.
  • Minimum 20 references.
  • At least 80% of references should be from scholarly sources published within the last five years.
  • DOI should be included whenever available.

5. Citation and Reference Style

DESI uses the APA (7th Edition) referencing style. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as:

  • Mendeley
  • Zotero
  • EndNote

6. Publication Ethics

Authors must comply with the journal’s Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement. Submission of a manuscript implies that:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been published previously.
  • The manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • All authors have approved the submitted version.
  • All sources are appropriately cited.

7. Plagiarism Policy

All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts containing significant plagiarism, duplicate publication, or unethical practices will be rejected immediately.

8. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Disclosure

Authors must disclose the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, including generative AI systems, if such tools have significantly assisted in manuscript preparation.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript.

9. Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, professional, or personal relationships that could influence the research findings or interpretation.

10. Data Availability Statement

Authors are encouraged to provide a Data Availability Statement indicating where supporting data can be accessed or explaining any restrictions on data availability.

11. Submission Process

  1. Register an author account in the journal system.
  2. Prepare the manuscript according to DESI guidelines.
  3. Complete all metadata during submission.
  4. Upload the manuscript file.
  5. Confirm submission.
  6. Track manuscript progress through the journal system.

12. Submission Checklist

  • The manuscript fits the journal’s focus and scope.
  • The manuscript is original and unpublished.
  • The manuscript is not under review elsewhere.
  • All references follow APA 7th Edition.
  • Author information and metadata are complete.
  • Keywords and abstract have been provided.
  • All tables and figures are properly cited.
  • Ethical requirements have been fulfilled.

13. Article Processing Charges (APC)

Information regarding publication fees, if applicable, will be provided on the journal website. Any applicable charges will be communicated transparently to authors before publication.
