Peer Review Process

Digital Systems and Innovation Journal (DESI) employs a Double-Blind Peer Review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific contribution of all published manuscripts. In this review model, the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.

Review Procedure

1. Initial Submission

Authors submit manuscripts through the journal's online submission system. Submitted manuscripts must comply with the journal's author guidelines, ethical standards, and focus and scope.

2. Editorial Screening

The Editorial Team conducts an initial assessment to determine whether the manuscript:

  • Fits the journal’s focus and scope;
  • Meets academic and scientific standards;
  • Follows the journal template and author guidelines;
  • Contains complete metadata and references;
  • Complies with publication ethics requirements.

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without external review.

3. Similarity Screening

All manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using similarity detection software. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%, excluding references, quotations, and standard methodological descriptions.

4. Double-Blind Peer Review

Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who possess expertise relevant to the manuscript topic.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and novelty;
  • Relevance to the journal scope;
  • Research methodology;
  • Data quality and analysis;
  • Validity of results and conclusions;
  • Contribution to knowledge and practice;
  • Clarity and quality of presentation.

5. Editorial Decision

Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor may make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept Submission
  • Minor Revisions Required
  • Major Revisions Required
  • Reject Submission

6. Revision Process

Authors receiving revision requests must submit a revised manuscript along with a response letter explaining how reviewer comments have been addressed.

7. Final Decision

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision after considering reviewer recommendations and the quality of the revised manuscript.

8. Copyediting and Publication

Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, proofreading, layout editing, and final quality checks before publication.
