Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Jurnal Ilmiah Mandala Education (JIME) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on the Core Practices and guidelines developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher, are expected to adhere to the ethical standards described below.
Duties of Editors
Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the manuscript's scholarly merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal's scope.
Editors shall:

Evaluate manuscripts fairly without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, citizenship, or political beliefs.

Maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.

Ensure a fair and unbiased peer-review process.

Avoid conflicts of interest regarding submitted manuscripts.

Take appropriate action when ethical concerns or misconduct are identified.

Issue corrections, clarifications, retractions, or apologies when necessary.
Duties of Reviewers
Peer reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and contribute to improving the quality of published manuscripts.
Reviewers shall:

Review manuscripts objectively and constructively.

Maintain the confidentiality of all information related to submitted manuscripts.

Identify relevant published work not cited by the authors.

Report any suspected plagiarism, duplication, or ethical concerns.

Decline review assignments when conflicts of interest exist.

Complete reviews within the agreed review period.
Duties of Authors
Authors are responsible for the integrity, originality, and accuracy of their submitted work.
Authors shall:

Submit only original work that has not been published elsewhere.

Properly acknowledge the work and contributions of others.

Present research results accurately and objectively.

Ensure that all listed authors have significantly contributed to the research.

Avoid plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and data manipulation.

Disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest.

Notify the editor promptly if significant errors are discovered after publication.
Authorship and Contributorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research.
All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.
Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately.
Plagiarism Policy
JIME strictly prohibits plagiarism in any form.
All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process.
Manuscripts containing evidence of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, or other unethical practices will be rejected immediately.
Duplicate and Redundant Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal.
Manuscripts that substantially overlap with previously published work without proper citation will be rejected.
Data Integrity and Research Misconduct
Authors must ensure that all data presented in their manuscripts are genuine, accurate, and properly documented.
Research misconduct includes but is not limited to:

Fabrication of data.

Falsification of research results.

Manipulation of images or figures.

Misrepresentation of findings.
Any proven misconduct may result in rejection, retraction, and notification to the relevant institution.
Conflict of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any relationships, financial interests, or personal connections that may influence the publication process.
Conflicts of interest should be declared at the time of submission or review.
Confidentiality
Editors and reviewers shall not disclose information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than those directly involved in the editorial and publication process.
Complaints and Appeals
Authors may submit complaints or appeals regarding editorial decisions by contacting the editorial office.
All complaints will be handled fairly, transparently, and in accordance with COPE recommendations.
Corrections and Retractions
When significant errors or ethical issues are identified in published articles, JIME will publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions as appropriate.
Retractions will follow internationally recognized publishing ethics standards and will remain linked to the original article.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage
Authors may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to improve language, grammar, or readability. However, AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, validity, and integrity of all submitted content.
Any substantial use of AI-assisted technologies must be disclosed in the manuscript.
Ethical Oversight
Research involving human participants, personal data, or sensitive information must comply with relevant ethical standards and institutional regulations.
Authors may be requested to provide evidence of ethical approval where applicable.
Publisher Responsibilities
The publisher is committed to supporting editorial independence, maintaining the integrity of the academic record, and ensuring that ethical standards are upheld throughout the publication process.
JIME follows the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in promoting integrity in scholarly publishing.
